Planning and prevention are the two primary keys to fire safety.  You can better protect yourself and those around you by observing a few simple precautions.

PLAN YOUR ESCAPE ROUTES
  • Be familiar with your home.  Learn the exits.  Make sure that you are familiar enough that you can find them in the dark if necessary.
  • Plan a place outside of your home for everyone to meet in the event of a fire.   That way, you can be sure that everyone gets out.
  • Review your plan for escape in the event of a fire with all family members.   Re-review it on a regular basis.
PUT MATCHES AND LIGHTERS AWAY

Put matches and lighters away, out of the reach of youngsters.
